What is BSSC?
BSSC brings together two exciting forms of motorsport under one championship umbrella. Supermoto — high-performance motorcycle racing on mixed tarmac and dirt circuits — has been the heartbeat of British short-circuit racing for over two decades. For 2026, we've added the SuperLite championship: open-wheel single-seater off-road buggies powered by motorbike engines, racing on the same weekends at suitable circuits.
The championship visits six venues across England, Scotland, and Wales, with eight supermoto rounds and six SuperLite rounds — including a dedicated hillclimb event at Oliver's Mount, Scarborough.
Whether you're an experienced racer or a complete beginner, there's a class and a championship for you. The BSSC is organised by Norasport Supermoto Ltd.
How the Points System Works
We use an MXGP-style overall system. Here's how a typical round plays out:
Championship Classes
Supermoto riders are assigned to a primary class based on ability. Riders can also enter additional age or category championships alongside their primary class.
Elite
The top tier. Experienced, fast riders competing at the highest level of British supermoto.
Clubman
Competitive racing for riders who've moved beyond novice level but aren't yet at Elite pace.
Novice
For riders in their first season or two of supermoto racing.
Academy
The entry point for young and new riders.
Over 45's
Additional championship for riders aged 45 and over. Race in your primary class as normal — Over 45's positions calculated separately.
Under 21's
Additional championship recognising the best young talent in British supermoto.
SuperLite
Open-wheel single-seater off-road buggies with motorbike engines. A separate discipline racing alongside supermoto at selected rounds, plus a dedicated hillclimb.
